SERVICES WE OFFER
At JL Family Services, the therapeutic process is designed to crreate a regimen that is both solution-oriented and flexible, so as to fit into your and your family’s existing schedules. Here’s what you can expect from your firsts visits and beyond:
Phase One: Introduction
The goal of the first phase is to get to know one another. If there is a family or couples issue, it often helps to meet as a group. I get to learn about the dynamic of everyone involved, and you get to ask questions about what to expect.
Phase Two: Investigation
The goal of the second phase is for me to gather lots and lots of information so that I can begin to build a framework for the next several sessions. I always warn my clients that these meetings can feel a little like an interrogation, but I need to gather a lot of information in order to make sure that what we work on moving forward is the right path for you and your family.
Phase Three and On: The Plan
The goal from here on out is simple: progress! The feel and frequency of subsequent sessions will vary greatly depending upon your availability, the nature of the problems we’re solving, and how quickly you are progressing. Sometimes I may want to meet just with you, with you and some other people, or even with just a family member or friend alone. Things always change in the midst of the therapeutic process, and the plan is designed to change with them – and with you.
