Couples therapy may not "fix” your marriage, rather the therapist’s role is providing more consultation and supportive services
Individuals question how couple’s therapy can help or debate when is the right time to seek help. Couples therapy can be rewarding and successful merely if couples entering therapy understand the myths and misconceptions surrounding couple’s therapy. Therapist should never tell you what to do.
Our therapist, can help couple’s problem-solve, identify key problems in the relationship and assist with implementing changes that will better the couple. And as a reminder progress and changes take time especially if the issues and problems have been long-standing. Once you get over the fear or hesitation to couple’s therapy and find a therapist that you like and trust therapy can be rewarding, and can help with immediate short-term boost.
Our role in couple’s therapy is to be unbiased and nonjudgmental. We can help couples with:
-
-
- better communication and listening skills that will help partners understand the needs, thoughts and feelings of their partner,
- mediate arguments
- help provide a more stable individual and family life.

Our experience working with couples and dysfunctional relationships, we understand the importance of being sensitive and non-judgmental while also implementing effective skills that will result in a change. We are not afraid to be honest when need be, manage couple combat, and dig deep into the real issues or problems in the relationship. This may be intimidating and even frightening but I believe that it going to have to get worse in order for it to get better.
This can feel like a big step to let a stranger into what can be the most private part of your life. But sometimes conflict resolution and problem solving cannot be dealt within the confines of your home – and this is a common reason why couples seek therapy.
Even if you are unsure about couple’s therapy you can always explore whether it will be beneficial during a free 15-minute consultation and or explore what couple’s therapy can look like during your first appointment.
It may be time to hit the reset bottom.
You and your partner have gone through so much and you two are clearly different people from the first time you got together. Couples therapy can help to re discover who you are individually and who you want to become in your relationship.
