WHAT TO EXPECT

In my therapy space, you’ll have my undivided attention, and together we’ll create a judgment-free zone. My goal is to hear the real you, not what you think I want to hear, and to help you navigate the experiences that shape who you are.

You’re encouraged to be yourself and open up, knowing that therapy can be tough. There may be tears, there may be laughter, and both are welcomed here. While I’ll push your buttons and occasionally say things you might not like, it’s all in service of your growth. I won’t sugar coat things like a friend might because that won’t lead to the changes you desire. This is your journey, and finding comfort is essential.

Using evidence-based techniques like Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness, I’ll assist you in overcoming challenges related to substance abuse, sexual issues, mood disorders, anxiety, and depression. By emphasizing our therapeutic relationship and focusing on your strengths, we’ll foster personal growth and positive change.

Together, we’ll embark on a journey of self-exploration tailored to your unique needs and goals. In my holistic and integrative approach, I create a collaborative environment where you’ll feel seen, heard, and understood. With my genuine and non-judgmental demeanor, I’ll provide a safe space for you to share your stories and emotions.

MY JOURNEY

I've always been naturally curious about people and their stories. From my high school days, I found joy in lending an ear to anyone who needed someone to listen. I pursued my M.A. in Counseling Psychology, focusing on Addictions and Trauma at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

I am currently on the path to becoming a certified sex therapist, which means I'll have even more expertise to support clients with their unique sexual concerns. I chose to become a sex therapist because I believe that healthy and fulfilling sexual experiences are essential to overall well-being, and I am dedicated to helping individuals embrace their sexuality with confidence and joy.

MY EXPERIENCE

In my years of experience, I've worked with people from all walks of life, embracing their unique identities that encompass a beautiful mix of gender expressions, ages, sexual orientations, and cultural backgrounds. In addition to offering counseling services to individuals in the juvenile justice system, I had the opportunity to provide vital support to children, adolescents, and young adults living in underserved neighborhoods on the South and West sides of Chicago, delivering essential crisis-based services during times of adversity. I focused not only on restoring healthy functioning in clients but also on supporting their families throughout the process.

It is all about the connection.
